We just posted a Pastels Collection on and I wanted to share some of the images that inspired me while I was pulling these pieces.
Pastels are great in a lot of fabrics and I love to see them blended for a not so "girly" feel.  Like a Grey rayon dress with a tough belt, boots and smoky eye.  Or a Mushroom linen dress with chain mail accessories.
Pastels' appeal are rooted in artists' original use of the medium to achieve a hazy, romantic feel.  My favorites are Degas's dancers and bathers, lovely and smokey in their languid beauty and movement.
Beauty Note:  One of my sweet, sweet friends at Josie Maran Cosmetics hooked me up with their new Gelee lip and cheek color and I found that it paired really well with the Pastel looks.  You get a sheer wash of color with the added benefits of the main ingredient being Coconut water.  I'm not quite ready to follow through with pastel hair but I so, so love the look in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette and on the Chanel runway.
