Ojai is one of my favorite places in the world. The gorgeous valley feels like an open possibility and the languid pace of the town makes me feel like I'm falling into place like a puzzle.
We go up often for the the farmer's market, www.ojaicertifiedfarmersmarket.com, and last weekend we had a double header of "Tomatomania" and a photo shoot. www.tomatomania.com is the world's largest heirloom tomato seedling sale. We picked up a Japanese black and white pear among others. The smell of a nursery abound with tomato plants is completely intoxicating.
Our favorite restaurant is www.thefarmerandthecook.com. The organic produce is staggeringly good and the menu is equally simple and creative. "Lure" on the main drag in Ventura also has a ridiculously amazing happy hour that has brought a lot of joy into our lives, www.lurefishhouse.com. I also love the organic grocery store in the town store and I've hit some amazing estate sales before.
I took about a dozen vintage pieces in bold tropical prints to shoot at Lake Casitas. Cotton and poly blend dresses are perfect for a Spring day in a Valley town. The colors brighten our complexions and the prints do the same for our mood.
